So, if you’re like me, you want things to be done efficiently and effectively. I’ll admit sometimes I can be lazy and I’ll think, who needs tools or anything helpful, I’m here now I’ll just do without it - instead of grabbing something to make my life easier. Does anyone else do that?

So I’ve taken it upon myself to round up some products that really help me when I am outside gardening! Here you go:

Pruners
I do carry a knife around on me while working on the farm, but these garden pruners are nice to have because they are easy to use, and can be used one-handed! Great for pruning and harvesting.

Trowel Set
You probably already have these, and they are a necessity!! Great for all tasks. These are the hand versions, but if you do in-ground gardening you could get them at full length.

Soil Test
These small, portable test tubes make it easy to test the soil and see what you’re missing. If you’ve read my ebook you’ll know the importance of doing one at the beginning of the season to see if you’re depleted in anything.

Watering Can

While I almost always use the hose and watering wand to water my garden, I love having these around in case I have to spot treat some of my plants with soil amendments that need to be mixed with water before applied.

Tunnel Covers
I LOVE these! I used this for the first time last year while my baby kale and cabbage was just starting out and it really helped with the aphids. I have mesh ones perfect for the summer. You can also get plastic or fleece ones to help with frost.

Watering Wand
Okay, this is one of my most favourite garden tools. It literally extends your hand by almost 3’. So I can now water my 4’ wide garden bed all from one side. It’s the best, and you can get straight to the base of the plant - which is the best spot to water. It also gives the perfect spray pattern!

Garden Bandit Weeder
I first saw this from Lee Valley and had to try it. And let me tell you, it works wonders! It pulls large weeds super easily and makes weeding go by faster. Try it!!

Garden Bag

I got this for Christmas this past year, and it’s been so handy. A great spot to store all of my tools, garden gloves, seeds, soil test tubes, plant markers, etc. And it even turns into a seat! This one is just from Amazon, but I have seen some fancier ones!

Another thing you can’t forget is gardening gloves!! I go through so many pairs!! I’d also love to try a garden apron/tool belt, have you seen those??

Have you used any of these? Do you have a favourite tool that I missed? Share in the comments below!
